Home Sweet Home
After a month of being away from the DR, I have never been happier to be in this place. The last month of my life was spent studying Spanish in Antigua, Guatemala. While I learned a lot and enjoyed my time there, I am so happy to finally be back in the DR. There are so many exciting things going on right now and God is truly using the people He has placed here to change this country. I am reminded every day of what a blessing it is to be a part of this work and part of the plans God has set into motion. My heart feels so full and I am so grateful to be here.
Here are just a few of the things that have reminded me of what a blessing it is to be here:
- The future students of Manna Christian School. They are all really involved with our groups this summer and I have been so impressed by each one of them. These kids love God and love one another and I am so excited to see how they grow once the school starts.
- The interns. Our interns this summer are incredible! It’s like they’ve been living here their whole lives and they are so in tune to what’s going on here. They are such a friendly, capable, spiritually-minded group of people, and I know they are going to continue being a blessing to us this summer.
- The groups. I love summer groups and I am so excited that I get to be a part of them and help with them this summer. Our first two groups have been phenomenal and I know God has big plans in store for the rest of our groups as well.
- The team. I have said this before, but I think I know and get to work with some of the best people in the world. It’s rare that you find so many people you can work with and have fun with on a daily basis. While we have our difficult times and things aren’t always perfect, at the end of the day I can honestly say I love every single person I get to work with and wouldn’t change it for anything.
God is in the middle of what we have going on here in the DR, and I am so grateful to be back and to be a part of it all. Please keep all of us in your prayers as the summer is always a busy time. I love each and every one of you!
